Dartmoor Ponies

Sherberton Farm is one of the original herds of pedigree Dartmoor Ponies in the world. Our hardy ponies are kept year-round on rough moorland grazing and are rarely handled. We sell youngstock to help towards their keep and to ensure numbers are kept at a steady level.

Buying Our Ponies

Although our mares are rarely handled, Dartmoors are generally very biddable and we halter break most of our young stock. Those who purchase our ponies find that they make excellent children’s ponies, companions, or indeed can be broken to harness. Due to their hardy nature our pedigree ponies also make excellent conservation grazers which can help land managers comply with native breed components of environmental schemes.
